Alpha CHECKPOINT has significant knowledge and experience in the field of testing and related forensic services. We are experienced with the writing and implementation of policies and testing according to Department of Transportation (DOT) federal regulations as well as policies for non-DOT regulated companies. We also recognize that there are circumstances that require specialized panels of testing - call us for a consultation of your needs. Our expertise in testing for courts, probation, legal cases, and private testing is extensive. All of our samples are collected under strict chain of custody procedures and are sent to certified laboratories.
Common reasons and circumstances for drug and alcohol testing include:
Testing Laboratories including Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and SAMHSA certified:
DOT: Beginning January 1, 2018, in addition to the existing DOT drug testing panel (that includes marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, phencyclidine (PCP), and opiates), you will also be tested for four semi-synthetic opioids (i.e., hydrocodone, oxycodone, hydromorphone, oxymorphone). https://www.transportation.gov/odapc/Part_40_DOT_Employee_Notice_2017
non-DOT: Customized drug testing panels to fit your needs.
DOT and non-DOT breathalyzer testing.
Hair growth is fed by the bloodstream, thus, the ingestion of drugs of abuse is revealed by analyzing a small sample of hair. Hair drug tests analyze for the parent drugs and their metabolites inside the hair shaft (follicle). Metabolites are only produced by the body and cannot be an environmental contaminant. Since drug molecules are embedded inside the hair shaft, hair drug testing results cannot be altered with shampoos, dyes, bleaches or other external contaminants/chemicals.
Hair testing is excellent in identifying the chronic drug user or in monitoring an individual's drug use.
Policy design and development: Alpha CHECKPOINT can write and implement a customized drug and alcohol corporate policy or review any existing policy for completeness. Alcohol and drug use among employees and their family members can be an expensive problem for business and industry, with issues ranging from lost productivity, absenteeism, injuries, fatalities, theft and low employee morale, to an increase in health care, legal liabilities and workers' compensation costs.
Program management: We can provide complete management of drug and alcohol testing programs for both DOT and non-DOT companies. Our random testing software program provides computer-generated lists.
Drug-Free Workplace Compliance Training: Drug and alcohol awareness programs are a fully web-based delivery system for supervisors and employees. Online training is self-paced, economical and easy to implement. Click on this hyperlink to find out further information.
DOT testing: The Department of Transportation's (DOT) rule, 49 CFR Part 40, describes required procedures for conducting workplace drug and alcohol testing for the Federally regulated transportation industry (https://www.transportation.gov/odapc/part40).
